The world is waiting for a historic event in the Egyptian capital at the beginning of April, reflected in a majestic procession to transport royal mummies from the Tahrir area in central Cairo to the Museum of Civilization.
Ahmed Ghoneim, chief executive of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, revealed to Sky News Arabia details of the procession, which was scheduled for April 3rd by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

In a large ceremony, royal mummies will be transferred from their current headquarters at the Egyptian Museum of Liberation to the National Museum of Civilization in the Fustat area, south of Cairo.

Ghoneim said the transfer of royal mummies will be carried out in accordance with strict procedures, which take into account the safety and safety standards used globally in the transport of artifacts.

He added that the majestic procession will be led by King Ramses II, then Ramses III, Ramses IV, Ramses V, Ramses VI, Ramses IX, then Thutmose I II and Thutmose III.

The procession includes Thutmose IV, King Sahun Ra, Queen Hatshepsut, Amenhotep I, Amenhotep II, Amenhotep III, AmitAferati, Merritt Amon, Sptah, Marnebetah, Queen T, Seti I and Seti II.

Sterile carriages for transport

The head of the Museum of Civilization pointed out that the mummies will be placed inside equipped sterilization units, loaded onto specially designed and equipped vehicles for this event, with the aim of maintaining the safety of mummies dating back to the pharaonic dynasties 17, 18, 19, 20.

The procession, which will be covered in the media by satellite channels and international news agencies, includes 22 royal mummies, led by the mummy of King Ramses II, and the procession starts from the headquarters of the Egyptian Museum, passing through Tahrir Square, and then heading towards the Nile Corniche in the direction of the old suburb of Egypt, and ends at the National Museum of Civilization in the Fustat region.

Ghoneim pointed out that a car of each king of ancient Egypt was manufactured specifically for this procession bearing a unified logo, bearing his name and surname in Arabic, English and hieroglyphics,

The royal mummies will be carried in a dazzling art show celebrating the royal exit of mummies from the Egyptian Museum, with the participation of war wheels specially made for the event to participate on both sides of the road during the procession.

Horses, parades and gunshots will also be used to welcome them to the National Museum of Civilization with the participation of the Egyptian ministries of defense and interior, Dr. Ghoneim said.
