The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower (French: Tour Eiffel) is a 324-meter iron tower in Paris, France, located in the northwest corner of the Champs-de-Mars Park, near the Seine River.
Gustave Eiffel and his partners designed it for the Paris International Exhibition in 1889.
The building began on January 28, 1887, and was finished in two years, two months, and five days (1887–1889), with the public opening on May 15, 1889.
Originally known as the 300-meter tower, it became a symbol of the French capital and the country's first tourist code.
In 2006, it was the ninth most visited French website.
With 7 million people each year, it is also the first benchmark in terms of tourist numbers. The Eiffel Tower has been the world's highest teacher for 41 years.
