John Depp
John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an actor, producer, and musician from the United States. He has won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as being nominated for three Academy Awards and two BAFTAs.
Depp made his acting debut in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), before going on to star in the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990) as a teen idol.
With his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Walt Disney swashbuckler film series Pirates of the Caribbean (2003–2017), Depp became one of the most commercially successful cinema stars of the 2000s.
Finding Neverland (2004) earned him critical acclaim, and he maintained his commercially successful association with Tim Burton with the flicks Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Nightmare Before Christmas (2005),
In the films Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), and Alice in Wonderland, he played Willy Wonka (2010).
Depp was one of the world's biggest movie stars in 2012,[1][2] and was named the world's highest-paid actor by Guinness World Records, with earnings of US$75 million. [3] Depp formed the rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry in the 2010s through his firm, Infinitum Nihil, and began producing films through his company, Infinitum Nihil.
Before starring as Gellert Grindelwald in the Warner Bros. Wizarding World films Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2017), he appeared in the films Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2017). (2018).Depp was married to actress Amber Heard from 2015 to 2017. Heard said that Depp had been aggressive during their relationship, which gained media attention. Depp claimed that Heard had mistreated him in 2018 before suing the proprietors of the British tabloid The Sun for defamation under English law, but he was unsuccessful.
Depp later sued Heard in Virginia for defamation after she authored an op-ed in which she claimed to be a public victim of domestic violence. The Depp v. Heard trial commenced in 2022.
Between 1998 and 2012, Depp was married to French singer Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children, including actress and model Lily-Rose Depp.
